My work for Sony involved several types of translation and localisation, mainly marketing texts. I translated and localised for them press releases, product catalogues, packaging, and internal learning materials for sales representatives. I worked with different types of files, from standard Word files to InDesign layouts, PowerPoint, and private intranets.
I learned data about TV sets, speakers, cameras, and technologies such as LED. It helped me to understand marketing and jargon. Besides, it was my first experience with translation memories. It was not a requirement, but some of the materials were similar and included a lot of technical terms, so I searched for optimising solutions.
